  1999.5-present Software Engineer and Assistant Manager, Sony, Tokyo

   I managed the software team to develop BML(Broadcast Markup
   Language) Browser running on Digital TV and Set Top Box which will
   be sold next summer in Japan. BML is a part of Digital Data
   Broadcasting standard defined by ARIB(Association of Radio
   Industries and Businesses) in Japan. BML uses XML and the subset of
   XHTML1.0 recommended by W3C and uses standard ECMA-262 for
   scripting engine and uses DOM(Document Object Model) specification
   as a interface to documents. In Japan we use the BML browser for
   Interactive data service in Broadcasting Satellite(BS) digital
   service and it will begin next December 2000.

  1998.4-1999.5 Software Engineer and Assistant Manager, Sony, Tokyo

   Design and implement graphics driver and library on Aperios
   OS(Real-time OS developed in Sony) for Set Top Box in Japan. This
   is digital CS satellite tuner for broadcaster named "SkyPerfecTv"
   and begun to sale in summer of 1999. This graphics library can
   control not only graphics plane but also MPEG video include scaled
   video. We use this graphics library in MHEG5 application to provide
   interactive data service.

  1994.4-1998.4 Software Engineer, Sony, Tokyo

   Design and implement GUI library for Set Top Box and resource
   editor for the GUI. The resource editor runs on Workstation and
   PC. The concept of this GUI tool is easy to extend the GUI feature
   and easy to modify the GUI resource editor. This environment helps
   GUI software engineers to develop their GUI software efficiently to
   follow rapid changes of specification. This environment is used for
   several software departments in Sony.  During this time I went to
   Sony Electronics office in San Diego a lot of times to deliver our
   GUI system.

   - SkyPerfecTV STB in Japan.
   - DirecTV STB in United States.
   - Digital STB in U.K. (several broadcasters)

   Develop the prototype of C cross compiler for SPC900 of Sony which
   is a 16 bits CPU for consumer embedded system market. I developed a
   optimization part of this compiler.

P E R S O N A L   B A C K G R O U N D

 Music : I made a band with university friends and still continue to
 play. We plan a live concert once a year. I am a vocalist. We play
 rocks and pops in '80s to '90s. Our favorite artist is Daryl Hall &
 John Oates, and I can sing great hit songs of them. Also I love to
 listen to Jazz music. My favorite artist is Pat Metheny, Jazz
 guitarist.

 Baseball : I joined a baseball team and enjoy playing baseball twice
 or once a month.

 Birth : I was born in Nagoya city in Aichi prefecture, Japan, the
   middle of Osaka and Tokyo. Then I moved to Tokyo when I am three
   years old. And I moved to Singapore and Malaysia because my father
   transferred to those countries. I lived in those countries totally
   four and half years.
